Job Description

MAS Seeds is looking for a R&D Planning and Coordination operations winter production Mexico Lead for its R&D Department based in San Juan de Abajo, Nayarit, Mexico.

MASSeeds has been breeding Corn and Sunflower for 40 years, and since 5 years start its transition of R&D program to speed up and integrate all new breeding technologies in its process. We believe in the power of breeding to adapt varieties to climate change and a more environmentally friendly agriculture.

Mexico RD stations are fully integrated in the deployment of the new MAS SEEDS strategy. As a RD HUB San Juan del Abajo will be dedicated to produce in winter seeds for all our RD programs (corn and sunflower). A strong link will be developed between Queretaro station (hosting the tropical corn program) and San Juan de Abajo, to produce 3 generations a year in Mexico and to develop MAS seeds DH operations.

Your main mission will be to plan and coordinate the yearly operations with the local team to deliver winter production plan respecting safety rules, quantity and quality request, and on time. You will ensure active communication and regular reporting with your stakeholders. You will strongly support the quality improvement at operational level.

The position is considered as a permanent full-time job.

Responsibities

You will have to responsibities to :

  • From the forecasted plan of activities of all R&D programs (Prod development Corn Temperate & tropical, Sunflower) in San Juan de Abalo, set-up with your peers an effective Operational planning of activities and tasks to execute the seasonal plan.
  • Adjust and optimize the planning as much as necessary during the season and report any significant deviation to your peers and stakeholders Set up and animate all rituals (daily and weekly) with stakeholders (breeders, breeders assistants, PDO trials seeds, breeding, and parental lines management lead) in Europe and in Mexico
  • Set up and lead quality process regarding SOP (Standard operating procedures)
  • Track activities and costs associated to support budget process.
  • Coordinate communication regarding logistics and seed movements (In & out) with your respective stakeholders.
  • Co-lead, with peers, the process of breeding operations continuous improvement.
  • Apply and respect (ensure) health, safety, environment, and compliance guidelines.
  • You may participate to some Field or processing operations when needed.

Position located in our R&D Station near San Juan de Abajo, Nayarit (Mexico)

10% travels in Mexico and to Europe

  • You have several years of experience in a breeding seed company or any agronomic company.
  • You have a good knowledge of all operations involved in a breeding program, crop production or engineering, seed and farming practices as well equipment operation.
  • You have ability to clearly communicate, expressing requirements and expectations to a wide range of individuals.
  • You have a strong sense of collaborative work,
  • You have analytic skills to manage deadline and monitor progress across the team of an undertaking and identify areas needing adjustment or improvement to ensure operations are delivered on time and on budget.
  • You have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills both within and external to MAS SEEDS
  • You are Fluent in English
  • You are autonomous and rigorous in your way of working.
  • You are willing to work in an international context.
  • You have a driving license.
